Make a colorful and refreshing fruit salad using seasonal winter produce, finished with a bright honey-lime dressing. This recipe is quick to prepare and perfect for holiday gatherings or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large navel oranges, peeled and segmented
  • 2 crisp apples (like Honeycrisp or Fuji), cored and diced
  • 2 firm pears, cored and diced
  • 1 cup pomegranate arils
  • 1 cup green grapes, halved
  • 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 1 tablespoon fresh mint, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the fruit: Peel and segment the oranges. Dice the apples and pears. Halve the grapes. Place all prepared fruit into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Make the dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together the fresh lime juice, honey, and lime zest until the honey dissolves completely.
  3. Dress the salad: Pour the honey-lime dressing over the fruit mixture. Gently toss the fruit until everything is lightly coated.
  4. Finish and serve: Sprinkle the chopped fresh mint over the salad. Serve immediately for the best texture, or chill for up to one hour before serving at your holiday potluck sides gathering.

Notes

  • For a festive look, select fruits that offer contrasting colors, such as red pomegranate arils against green grapes.
  • You can make this salad ahead of time, but add the apples and pears just before serving to prevent browning.
  • If you prefer a warmer flavor profile, substitute the honey-lime dressing with a simple cinnamon vanilla dressing made from 3 tablespoons maple syrup, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
