Make this quick watermelon smoothie when you need a refreshing, naturally sweet drink. It whips together in five minutes and is perfect for a healthy breakfast or a cool summer snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups seedless watermelon, cubed and frozen
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 cup vegan yogurt (or dairy yogurt for non-vegan)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup water or non-dairy milk (add more if needed for blending)

Instructions

  1. Place the frozen watermelon cubes, frozen strawberries, vegan yogurt, and lime juice into your blender.
  2. Pour in the water or non-dairy milk. Start with 1/4 cup.
  3. Secure the lid and blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides if necessary.
  4. If the smoothie is too thick, add more liquid, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency.
  5. Pour immediately into a glass and serve this refreshing summer drink.

Notes

  • For a high-protein breakfast smoothie, add one scoop of your favorite vanilla or unflavored protein powder before blending.
  • If you do not have frozen watermelon, use fresh watermelon and add 1 cup of ice cubes for a frosty texture.
  • This recipe is naturally sweet, but if you prefer more sweetness, add 1 teaspoon of maple syrup or agave nectar.
