Ingredients
Scale
8 ounces smoked salmon, flaked
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
1 tablespoon capers, drained and chopped (optional)
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Pinch of salt (taste first)
Optional garnish: extra dill, lemon zest, or chopped chives
Instructions
Place the softened cream cheese, sour cream (or yogurt), lemon juice, chopped dill, capers (if using), and black pepper into a medium bowl.
Use an electric mixer or a sturdy spoon to beat the ingredients until they are smooth and fully combined.
Gently fold in the flaked smoked salmon until it is evenly distributed throughout the mixture. Do not overmix, as you want some texture from the salmon.
Taste the dip and add a pinch of salt if needed, remembering that smoked salmon is already salty.
Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Before serving, garnish with extra dill, lemon zest, or chives. Serve with crackers, vegetable sticks, or toasted bread slices.
Notes
For a lower-fat option, substitute all sour cream with plain Greek yogurt.
You can make this dip up to 24 hours ahead of time. Keep it covered in the refrigerator.
If you prefer a smoother texture, pulse all ingredients briefly in a food processor instead of mixing by hand.
Serve this dip cold for the best flavor and texture.
