Prepare this rich, briny dip that captures the flavor of a classic dirty martini. It is a simple, no-cook appetizer perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz blue cheese, crumbled
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped green olives (pitted)
  • 1/2 cup olive brine
  • 2 oz gin or vodka (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Extra chopped olives and olive oil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the softened cream cheese, blue cheese, and sour cream into a medium mixing bowl.
  2. Add the chopped green olives, olive brine, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the bowl.
  3. If using alcohol, add the gin or vodka now.
  4. Mix all ingredients together using an electric mixer or a sturdy spoon until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  5. Taste the dip and adjust salt or brine if you desire a stronger flavor.
  6. Transfer the dip to a serving dish.
  7. Cover the dish and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend. This step is important for the best taste.
  8. Before serving, garnish the top with a drizzle of olive oil and extra chopped olives.
  9. Serve cold with crackers, pretzels, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • You can make this dip up to 2 days ahead of time. Keep it covered in the refrigerator.
  • For an alcohol-free version, substitute the gin or vodka with an extra tablespoon of olive brine or a splash of water.
  • This dip pairs well with sturdy crackers, pita chips, or celery sticks.
