Make this bright red holiday margarita for a beautiful, festive drink. You can shake it for one serving or easily batch it for a party pitcher.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz silver tequila
  • 1 oz orange liqueur (like Cointreau or triple sec)
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 2 oz unsweetened cranberry juice
  • 1 oz pomegranate juice
  • 0.5 oz simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Garnish: Lime wedge, fresh cranberries, pomegranate arils, rosemary sprig
  • For Rim: Coarse salt or sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the rim: Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your glass. Dip the rim into a shallow plate of salt or sugar.
  2. Combine ingredients: In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, cranberry juice, pomegranate juice, and simple syrup.
  3. Shake well until the shaker is very cold, about 15 seconds.
  4. Strain the mixture into your prepared glass filled with fresh ice.
  5. Garnish with a lime wedge, a few fresh cranberries, pomegranate arils, and a rosemary sprig for a festive look.
  6. For a pitcher: Combine all liquid ingredients in a pitcher. Chill for at least 2 hours. When ready to serve, stir well and pour over ice in prepared glasses.

Notes

  • For a mocktail version, substitute the tequila and orange liqueur with equal parts sparkling water or white grape juice.
  • Adjust the simple syrup amount based on the tartness of your juices. Taste before shaking.
  • For a deeper red color, use 1.5 oz cranberry juice and 1.5 oz pomegranate juice.
