This recipe takes the classic muddy buddies snack mix and coats it in white chocolate and crushed Oreo cookies. It is a quick, no-bake dessert snack that you can make for parties or simple snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 cups Chex cereal (Rice or Corn)
  • 1 (10 ounce) package white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar, plus extra for dusting
  • 1 (14.3 ounce) package Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions

  1. Place the Chex cereal into a very large bowl. Set aside.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips and peanut butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until the mixture is completely smooth. This usually takes 60 to 90 seconds total.
  3. Stir the vanilla extract into the melted white chocolate mixture.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal in the large bowl. Gently fold the cereal until it is evenly coated.
  5. In a separate large Ziploc bag, combine the 1/2 cup of powdered sugar and the crushed Oreo cookies. Mix them together.
  6. Add about one-third of the coated cereal mixture to the bag with the sugar and Oreos. Seal the bag and shake well until the cereal is fully coated. Repeat this process in batches until all the cereal is coated.
  7. Spread the finished cookies and cream puppy chow onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to cool and set.
  8. If you are using the milk chocolate chips, melt them separately and drizzle them over the cooled snack mix for an extra layer of flavor.
  9. Once completely cool, dust with extra powdered sugar if desired before serving or storing.

Notes

  • For the best coating, crush the Oreos finely, leaving some small chunks for texture.
  • You can substitute the peanut butter with sunflower seed butter if you need a nut-free option.
  • This snack mix stores well in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
