You can make this sweet and creamy Grape Salad, often associated with Chicken Salad Chick, using simple ingredients. It is a refreshing side dish perfect for potlucks and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds red seedless grapes
  • 1 pound green seedless grapes
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry all grapes. Place them in a large bowl.
  2. In a separate medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  3. Add the sour cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract to the cream cheese. Mix until the dressing is completely combined and creamy.
  4. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the grapes. Gently fold the mixture until all the grapes are evenly coated.
  5. Stir in the chopped pecans.
  6. Cover the bowl and chill the salad in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Chilling allows the flavors to blend.
  7. Just before serving, sprinkle the top evenly with the brown sugar. Serve cold.

Notes

  • You can prepare the salad mixture and grapes up to one day ahead, but wait to add the brown sugar topping until right before serving.
  • For extra crunch, toast the pecans lightly before chopping and adding them to the salad.
  • This salad works well as a light dessert or a sweet side dish for summer meals.
