Make this quick, flavorful honey garlic chicken and green beans in one pan. This easy weeknight chicken dinner is ready in under 30 minutes and minimizes cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned and nearly cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Add the trimmed green beans to the same skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until they are bright green and slightly tender-crisp, about 4 minutes.
  4. Add the minced garlic to the skillet with the green beans and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, ground ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using) to create the sauce.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the chicken and green beans.
  7. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken and vegetables, about 2-3 minutes.
  8. Remove from heat. Serve immediately for a fast family dinner idea.

Notes

  • For a low carb chicken and green beans meal, skip serving with rice or noodles.
  • If you prefer chicken thighs, use them instead of breasts; adjust cooking time as needed.
  • To get crispy green beans chicken texture, cook the beans slightly longer before adding the sauce.
