Cook frozen shrimp straight from the freezer in your air fryer in under 15 minutes. This recipe delivers juicy, tender results with crispy edges, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or easy appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb frozen raw shrimp (peeled and deveined, tail on or off)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter (for tossing after cooking)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Take your frozen shrimp directly from the freezer. Do not thaw them first.
  2. Place the frozen shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding, which prevents crisping.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Drizzle the seasoning mixture over the frozen shrimp in the basket and toss gently with tongs to coat evenly.
  5. Set your air fryer to 380°F (195°C).
  6. Air fry for 10 to 12 minutes. Shake the basket halfway through the cooking time to ensure even cooking.
  7. Shrimp is done when it is opaque and pink throughout.
  8. Transfer the cooked shrimp to a bowl. Immediately toss with the melted butter and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
  9. Serve immediately as a quick appetizer or part of an easy seafood dinner.

Notes

  • For extra crispy air fryer seafood, you can lightly spray the shrimp with cooking spray before seasoning.
  • If your shrimp are very large, you may need to add 1 to 2 minutes to the total cook time.
  • This method works well for keto shrimp dinner ideas since it uses minimal added carbs.
